Welcome to GEMM 2015: Preliminary Agenda and Advance Prep
Dear Colleague:
At GEMM 2015: Innovations in Implementation, our focus will be on water, money and indigenous issues. We appreciate your interest and willingness to contribute your time and expertise to the dialogue.
Here is our Preliminary Agenda.
New in 2015 we will have concurrent GEMMx workshops on October 14th. The workshops will explore our focus topics in detail and inform our dialogue with next steps. The workshop topics are:
- Water and Governance: Advancing landscape scale planning in the extractive sector
- Money and Risk: Tailings management costs and risk analysis modelling issues and options
In preparation for the GEMMx workshop on Landscape-scale Planning, our colleagues at RESOLVE interviewed four experts for their perspectives on improving development through landscape-scale planning. These interviews will be discussed further in the workshop and help set the context for the larger discussion going on at GEMM. They highlight benefits, innovations, opportunities, and needs associated with implementation of landscape-scale planning in the extractives sector. Please view the links below to see and to listen to the interviews in advance.
Kind regards,
Glenn Sigurdson and Jessica Bratty
